Directions & Training
Training will commence every Monday and Wednesday until we finish our run
toward the AMNRL Championship in August.
The Slayers are welcoming back a wealth of talented and experienced players
from last season. As always in the sport of rugby, we welcome all newcomers
who are willing to be part of a team environment and give their all on the pitch.
Any Union and/or Sevens players are encouraged to attend.
Please make every effort to be at the pitch by 1845 hrs (6:45 p.m.) for warm-ups.
Training will begin promptly at 1900 hrs (7:00 p.m.)
Our training pitch has changed from years past. The training pitch is located on
the grounds of the Maret School, 3000 catherdral ave, NW 20008. It is located
right next to the Swiss embassy.
There will be post practice "debriefings" after every Wednesday practice. Details
coming soon....
Directions are as follows:
Metrorail and Metrobus
Maret is approximately a 12-minute walk from the
Woodley Park/Zoo Metrorail stop on the Red Line. If you take the Metrorail,
follow the directions below for those traveling north on Connecticut Avenue.
D.C. Metrobus #92 stops in front of Maret School on Cathedral Avenue.
From Washington, D.C., and Virginia:
Traveling north on Wisconsin Avenue,
take a right on Woodley Road (just past the National Cathedral on your right).
Follow Woodley Road (crossing Reno Road/34th Street) until it ends at Cathedral
Avenue; take a left on Cathedral Avenue and proceed to the second entrance of
Maret which is through the east gate.
Traveling north on Connecticut Avenue, take a left on Woodley Road. Follow
Woodley Road to 29th Street and take a right. Take a left on Cathedral Avenue
from 29th Street and Maret's east gate, the first entrance to the School, will be on
your left.
From Maryland:
Traveling south on Wisconsin Avenue, take a left on Woodley
Road (just before the National Cathedral). Follow Woodley Road (crossing Reno
Road/34th Street) until it ends at Cathedral Avenue; take a left on Cathedral
Avenue and proceed to the second entrance of Maret which is through the east
gate.
